About the OPPORTUNITY: We currently have an opportunity for a Systems and Network Administrator to join our Maritime Sustainment team based in Garden Island, NSW.
As
Systems and Network Administrator, you will be responsible for providing database and system administration of the Decision Support Environment (DSE), to deliver an Integrated Data Environment (IDE) that is capable of capturing and storing multi-domain operational data and processing it in support of Asset Management System decisions.
Key responsibilities include: - Demonstrated experience in any of the following applications / systems that underpin the DSE, including Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, PowerShell / CMD, Alteryx, Tableau, SharePoint and Python
- Support and maintenance of information systems supporting the DSE, including user account management, permissions management, group policy management, firewall management, network security and configuration as well as LAN troubleshooting, configuration, implementation and management
- Support the management of escalations, changes, updates, amendments to the DSE and its constituent components to ensure software is up to date and maintained as well as supporting changes to ensure proper planning and implementation
- Support and maintenance of the DSE database, including database backup and recovery management, database access management, database security/integrity, data warehouse data loads and data source extracts
- Support the data transfers and ensuring that data security is maintained in accordance with the data management work instruction
- Support the running of the Configuration Control Board (CCB) to ensure configuration of the data within the DSE is maintained and controlled and impact and business need for all requested changes are assessed
- Act as an application super user - to ensure that software changes and reconfigurations to the DSE are controlled and provide support to users of the system.
About You: - Degree in engineering, information technology, computer science, or other related area; or Diploma in applicable technical domain (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in ICT
- Demonstrated knowledge in systems analysis skills, critical thinking and problem solving
- Experience with packaging, testing, and deployment of applications
- Systems administration and support of a heterogeneous (Windows) environment with a small-medium user base
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and related technologies.
- A willingness and capacity to expand knowledge in ICT solutions
- Must be eligible to apply for Australian Defence Security Clearance (Baseline)
