Julie Sweet, Accenture CEO The Accenture secure cloud infrastructure support team are using cutting-edge cloud technologies in an internet-disconnected environment to support Critical National Infrastructure from a secure site in Cheltenham. You would support day-to-day operations and provide first-level infrastructure and platform engineering support to a secure government client.
This team will operate a 24/7/365 rota , and successful candidates will be paid a shift premium for the non-standard unsociable shift hours that will be part of that rota . We anticipate this to commence within the first 6-12 months of joining.
The first six months of the role may require regular travel to sites in or near London as part of a training and transition programme .
As a Frontline Engineer Manager you will be responsible for: - Run day-to-day management of cloud infrastructure support engineers who provide frontline support to secure cloud users to troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues (work 9-5 and support team)
- Ensure shift pattern provides 24/7 coverage with the correct capacity and skills
- Ensure team members are meeting SLAs and are maintaining their skills to the right levels
- Develop product knowledge in cutting-edge air-gapped cloud technology to support team members and users with how-to questions.
- Lead internal reviews to identify and enable opportunities for continuous improvement and reducing toil
- Provide mentoring to engineers and supporting a culture of team skills growth
- Interaction with partners and clients to report on SLAs and other KPIs

QualificationsThe following skills and experience are essential for this role: - Significant experience in working with computer systems and computer networks, specifically with the Linux operating system.
- Proven experience of managing technical teams and ensuring they have the skills and support to deliver high-quality work
- Experience in a production support / operations role to ensure a live service for users
- A willingness to learn new deep skills in air-gapped cloud architecture and operations
- Experience with understanding network architectures and troubleshooting network-related issues using Linux tools
- In-depth expertise in at least one of: Kubernetes, TerraForm, Networking, Observability
- In-depth understanding of ITIL v4 and standard ITSM practices and process
