YOUR IMPACT
- This role is part of the Sustainability & Impact team, reports into the EMEA Head of Sustainability & Impact, and supports GS Alternatives in delivering sustainability-related programs of work related to client & firmwide commitments, and regulatory requirements. This includes support on implementing EMEA ESG regulations that affect private markets products (e.g., SFDR, TCFD, EU Taxonomy, CSRD), including drafting regulatory disclosures & advising on product design.
- Collaborate closely with deal teams, embedded ESG Business Leads, Alternatives Capital Formation (ACF), Fund & Information Management, Legal and Compliance on ESG-related regulatory disclosures, client engagement, data collection and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities : ESG Regulatory Implementation - Product-Level Focus - Be a source of technical rule-based knowledge with practical implementation expertise for private markets in relation to SFDR, TCFD, EU Taxonomy, and CSRD among other regulations.
- Assist with the design of due diligence frameworks and investment processes (e.g., IC memo templates, ongoing monitoring expectations) to ensure consistent delivery of sustainability commitments and compliance with regulations for specific products.
- Assist with implementation of processes to ensure GS Alternatives is in compliance with ESG regulations and consistently evidencing work appropriately, coordinate closely with deal teams, ESG Business Leads, ACF, Legal and Compliance to ensure consistency and rigor in processes.
Client Communications & Other Reporting - Assist with the development of standardized ESG DDQ responses, content for investor sustainability updates and reports, marketing presentations, and other stakeholder engagement activities.
- Assist in the negotiation of sustainability-related commitments within client side letters for particular products.
- Assist in tracking client engagements, DDQs, and other inbounds related to ESG.
- Assist in preparation of updates to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Ongoing Delivery of ESG Commitments in Products - Collaborate with the ESG Data Lead, Engineering, and external consultants to assist with ESG regulatory-related data collection and reporting requirements
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and key skills:
- Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in Private Market Equity and/or Credit industry preferred
- Collaborative, detail-oriented and organized with strong professional writing and presentation-creation skills
- Thorough, mature and professional
- Able to connect various requirements across multiple frameworks and coordinate efficiently with various stakeholders - both internal and external
- Proactive team player in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to excellence, integrity and collaboration is a must
- Bachelor's Degree with a general preference for concentrations in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or Sustainability-related disciplines
- Experience with key sustainability-related regulations and standards including SFDR, EU Taxonomy, TCFD, CSRD etc.
- Experience with ESG KPIs/metrics preferred
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word with some awareness of business intelligence software and software tools
