National Grid Interconnectors is at the heart of UK’s transition to our net zero energy future. We operate a number of HVDC Interconnectors that connect the UK’s energy system to some of our closest neighbours, allowing energy to be imported to and exported from the UK.
As well as already owning a portfolio of HVDC Interconnectors, we’re working on developing new projects to ensure that we are able to meet the UK’s future demands for greener energy solutions.
We are currently recruiting for a Site Operations and Maintenance Manager based at our Viking Link coverter station in Lincolnshire.
Working with the other Interconnector Site Operations and Managers and other internal teams to support the development of an asset strategy that maximises operational asset availability over the long term and for driving commercial value for the interconnector.
The Site Operations & Maintenance Manager has a critical role in running the site delivery and ultimate operation of the link, with a focus on all the UK based assets, including the land and sub-sea cables. Leading a team of Operational Engineers (direct, agency and contractor derived) the Site Operations & Maintenance Manager is accountable for the quality, safe and efficient delivery of all operational activities of the Interconnector.
The role involves planning, co-ordination and management of all maintenance activities, emergency repair and trip response. If you have previous operational management experience we would love to hear from you!
This role is based on site in Lincolnshire and due to the nature of the location and the role you must have a full UK driving licence.
