Job Overview
The Data Hub team within Viridien are looking for interns with a passion for geoscience data, a good knowledge of varying geoscience data formats and a strong interest in the use of latest technology. As an intern you will be focused on document and data classification, data extraction and digitization from a range of file formats.
You will be exposed to a range of documents, images, tables and text. These labels will contribute directly to a series of classification models with the goal of improving the accuracy and speed of document classification via technology driven automated methods. The documents are globally sourced from the oil and gas Industry with subject matter content ranging from geoscience, reservoir and drilling engineering and general business administration content.
Data Hub is a dynamic team of scientists and developers within Viridien who love solving complex problems. We provide leading edge technology solutions and services to solve our clients' data transformation and analytic challenges across a range of industries Including geothermal, environmental, hydrocarbon and mineral exploration.
The role is office based, located in the Indonesia Viridien office, working in a collaborative environment with others on document labelling & extraction tasks.
The job role includes the following duties:
Labelling documents, images, tables and text with the appropriate document or data type from an available list of pre-defined terms,
Using latest technology to extract and transform a range of geoscience data from varying file formats including pdf, xls, csv,
Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to ensure consistency and accuracy of labels/ outputs,
Working to deadlines to ensure a high output rate of accurate labels and projects are delivered on time of high quality.
Key Skills & Experience
Qualifications
BSc, MSc or PhD in any of the following disciplines: Geoscience, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Engineering preferred.
Desired Job Skillsets
A good understanding of the types of documents and data types encountered in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of PVT data is desirable, but not essential.
Experience with python for data management.
Basic SQL for interaction with oracle and postgres databases.
